Chris Herden is a singer/actor with a career spanning a broad spectrum of musical styles. Chris was Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at the Schonell Theatre (Sept 2009) and wrote and starred in An Australian Tribute to an American Sweetheart at the 2008 Brisbane Cabaret Festival. He played Macduff in Macbeth- The Contemporary Rock Opera and appeared in I Love You ...You're Perfect... Now Change! for Mixed Company and the Australian premier of the Pet Shop Boys musical Closer to Heaven . He was Phantom understudy for the original Sydney season of Phantom of the Opera, a soloist with Queensland Pops Orchestra and was a participant in Opera Queensland's Young Artist Program and all of the company's opera seasons from 1988 to 1993. Theatre credits include The Sentimental Bloke, Tommy, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, White Horse Inn, Chess, Chu Chin Chow, Maid of the Mountains, Annie, Desert Song and Cabaret. As a founding member of hard rock bands Unleashed and Bowser Chris supported national/international acts including INXS, Steeleye Span, XTC, The Cure, Uriah Heap, Motorhead and Midnight Oil. Television appearances include Police Rescue, Australias Most Wanted, Home and Away and Big Sky. Film includes Blood Oath, Redheads and Swimming Upstream. Chris is a freelance entertainment/travel and business writer and is Brisbane City Councilâ??s recycling mascot CY 2026.
